Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy for Spider & Varicose Veins
Sclerotherapy treats smaller varicose veins and spider veins by injecting a solution that causes the vein to collapse and gradually fade from view. It’s a quick, in-office treatment with little to no downtime.
For deeper veins that can’t be seen on the surface, we use ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, which lets the physician target the vein precisely for better results. Sclerotherapy is often used alongside EVLT to clear any remaining veins.
At the Windsor Vein Centre, sclerotherapy and the follow-up visits that go with it are included in your treatment fee.

What you need to know
Frequently asked questions
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the number and type of veins being treated. We'll give you a clear plan at your consultation, and follow-up visits are included in your fee.
What is ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy?
It's sclerotherapy performed with live ultrasound imaging, allowing us to treat veins below the surface that can't be seen with the naked eye.
Is there any downtime?
Most patients return to normal activities the same day. We may ask you to wear compression stockings for a short period afterward.
Does it hurt?
Most people feel only a small pinch or mild stinging during the injections.
